Take a Class

AACA classes run on a seasonal schedule at locations across the Wasatch Front. Most welcome drop-ins, so you can try a session before committing to a full term. Materials are provided for beginners.

Current offerings include Chinese calligraphy and painting (Saturday afternoons), Baguazhang workshops (Saturdays 2:30–4:30 PM), and Tai Chi at the Visual Art Institute in South Salt Lake. Check the events page for the latest schedule.

What to Expect

  • Small class sizes — typically 8 to 15 students
  • Materials provided for your first session
  • No experience required for any class
  • Instruction in English (with Chinese terminology as relevant)
  • Classes run 1.5 to 2 hours

Volunteer

AACA runs on volunteer energy. Our events, exhibitions, and festivals all depend on people willing to help set up, break down, translate, photograph, drive, cook, and do the hundred small things that make a community organization work.

If you have time to spare — even a few hours at a single event — we'd be glad to have you. No special skills required, though we're always looking for people with photography, translation (Mandarin/English), and event coordination experience.
